Founded 1951 in Düsseldorf by Erwin Schmidt, Werner Dräger and Karl Ferlings, from whose first names the company name ERWEKA was derived.
1952 first series of the world recognised All-Purpose Equipment successfully used and continually developed. Beside the Disintegration Tester (1951) brisk development of further test equipments such as hardness testers (1952). The first dissolution tester came onto the market, in 1968 the first combination tester arrived in 1984.
1977 the presiding Managing Director and owner Mr. Werner G. Müller takes over the company from the ownership of the family Schmidt, who had resettled ERWEKA to its current location in Heusenstamm near Frankfurt.
Owing to the increasing world-wide awareness 1983 marked our entry as a registered trade mark. Since that time ERWEKA has developed and improved its manufacturing program continually, in order to correspond to new requirements and forge new ideas. Meanwhile ERWEKA has opened its own subsidiaries in Europe, Asia and the USA and is represented world wide.
