On this year’s Analytica in Munich, Germany, ERWEKA has launched its new RoboDis®, which is designed for the fully automated performance of up to 20 dissolution tests according to USP, EP and JP. Unlike conventional automated systems, RoboDis® handles two 8-station dissolution testers based on a 3-dimensional robot arm, which significantly increases flexibility and throughput.
The system has been developed in close cooperation with Bayer HealthCare in Leverkusen, Germany. It therefore reflects state-of-the-art operational know-how acquired in over 15 years of process optimization and automation in method development and quality control laboratories.
Under the current agreement, the first RoboDis system with fibre-optic analysis will become operational at Bayer HealthCare’s Berlin site. “Our extensive tests in the past months have shown that we are not dealing with a prototype anymore. RoboDis is now ready to become part of our day-to-day operations” says Dr. Kerstin Pauli, Head of Dissolution Testing within Global Pharmaceutical Development at Bayer HealthCare. The implementation of further systems supporting HPLC analytics are currently under negotiation.
“RoboDis is the consequent next step in pushing innovation in dissolution testing. We are confident, that RoboDis will set a new benchmark and be widely acknowledged by all major players in this field” says Christian G. Mueller, Managing Director of ERWEKA.
ERWEKA, based in Heusenstamm near Frankfurt / Germany, is a globally recognized manufacturer of pharmaceutical testing equipment, which is required in the fields of R&D, Quality Control and in-process control.
