In November 2009 ERWEKA handed out the scholarship for the past academic year at the Shenyang Pharmaceutical University in North China. It is the third year in a row that ERWEKA supported students in China. The nomination of the ERWEKA Awards went to two post-graduate students. Six scholarships were granted to graduate students. All eight students performed outstanding results in their studies on dissolution testing, as well in their researches on quality assurance in the pharmaceutical industry. The two PhD candidates finished their thesis’s on “in vitro investigation of the diallyl trisulfide–drug interactions” and on “design and evaluation of osmotic pump controlled preparations aqueous coating system”.

Beside the scholarship this ERWEKA donated a Hardness Tester to develop further the research environment for the students at the Shenyang Pharmaceutical University.

Every year a handful of elitist students are graduating from the Shenyang Pharmaceutical College and will lead the way in the development of the Chinese pharmaceutical industry. Still in their infancy, Chinese pharmaceutical companies are predicated to enter the global stage in the coming years. As analysts predict China will be the 5th biggest producer of pharmaceutical products in the year 2011: For ERWEKA a good reason to invest in the future of the Chinese and International Pharmaceutical Industry.
