In view of the 10th service anniversary we have asked Mr. Tic a few questions about his time with ERWEKA.

Mr. Tic, first of all congratulations on ten years of service. How did you find out about the position as a purchaser at ERWEKA?

Before joining ERWEKA I was principally engaged in sales. Already in those days I thought of working sometime on the opposite side in the purchasing department. When I heard about the vacancy in the purchasing department at ERWEKA, I took the opportunity and applied for the position. During the job interview my expectations of this area were confirmed, so that I finally accepted the position in the purchasing department.

What has been one of your favorite tasks or projects so far?

Larger purchases, whereby many different aspects need to be considered, are often particularly interesting. Last year we have bought a huge CNC machine for our production department. This not only includes the negotiation of prices but also includes the management of the entire process starting with the delivery up to the organization of the device setup.

Why was it the right decision to join and to finally stay at ERWEKA?

Apart from my responsibilities, I really appreciate the collaboration with my colleagues! The cooperation works well, so that new friendships were formed over the past years. In addition, I get along very well with our suppliers.

What skills does a purchaser need to be successful?

To my mind, most important is the ability of being able to deal with people. An open and honest way of communicating would be an advantage. In addition, you should be able to negotiate and not be afraid of dealing with numbers.

What do you like most about your job?

If I had to choose once again, I would accept the position in the purchasing department again. The tasks are very interesting and even after ten years of experience in the purchasing department you always get to know new products and technologies.

Mr. Tic, thanks for the interview and I wish you further success for the future at ERWEKA.
