We present Sevgi Klier, Head of Integrated Management Systems & Technical Editoring

In today´s interview of our series, ERWEKA presents itself, we would like to introduce our colleague Mrs. Sevgi Klier.

To learn more about her everyday working life at ERWEKA and her person, we have asked Mrs. Klier a few questions.

Mrs. Klier, you have started to work for ERWEKA in April 2017.

Why did you choose ERWEKA as your new employer?

I applied to ERWEKA because I wanted to join the field of mechanical engineering and I feel familiar with the family-owned, medium-sized company structure. I chose ERWEKA because the job interview was very constructive and harmonious, and I had a very positive feeling. The open and honest words along with the facts presented convinced me, so that the same day I decided on ERWEKA and against another offer.

What´s your profession at ERWEKA?

I started as a leader of the Integrated Management Systems, which was divided into quality and environmental protection. Occupational safety is also part of my field of activity as well as the energy management. At the end of 2017, I took over the management of the technical editorial team and am a CE documentation representative and data protection officer. Due to these many topics, the department has grown recently.

How is your day-to-day job alike?

My classic work routine starts in the morning with the daily coffee while the PC starts. The e-mails already checked the previous evening are then processed. I also do a lot of law research, check documentation and stay in contact with the departments - especially R & D. Topics such as laboratory equipment, the new building and the related coordination with the trade union. Machine Guidelines, Sample inspection of documentation, and sample quality control in the packing department are also part of my day-to-day work. Also, from suppliers many questions are raised, which I answer. 

What do you like most about your job?

What I particularly like about my job is that you can make a difference. I also like the many interfaces and the exchange with the other departments, because quality is a cross-company topic and not just important in my department.

What´s your background? What have you been doing before you have started to work at ERWEKA?

I worked for 10 years in accreditation and have carried out assessments. Afterwards, I was traveling internationally as an IAF technical secretary. For three years I was the head of a Certification in a company in Offenbach. After that I founded a certification center in Bavaria for two years and lead the accreditation as well as the certification. After one more year in another certification department, I wanted to go deeper into the action and looked for a job in the industry. I decided to go with ERWEKA.

What do you appreciate most about ERWEKA?

I appreciate the open communication, also regarding the management as well as the communication between the employees. For me it is also important to have an open ear for the employees. Overall, I like the positive attitude change of the employees. The togetherness has become stronger and they have become more open.

What do you like to do in your leisure time?

I conduct audits and advise other companies on quality issues and am therefore answering a lot of phone calls and e-mails. Privately, I spend a lot of time with my two daughters.

Three words, which describe yourself?

Domestic. Honest. Open to criticism.
