ERWEKA presents itself – Klaus-Peter Lehr, Production

In today´s interview of our series “ERWEKA presents itself”, we would like to introduce our colleague Mr. Klaus-Peter Lehr, Head of Production.

Mr. Lehr, Head of Production and Assembly Department

To learn more about his everyday working life at ERWEKA and his person, we have asked Mr. Lehr a few questions.

Mr. Lehr, you are celebrating your 31-year employment anniversary in August this year. What´s your profession at ERWEKA?

I am head of the production and the assembly department.

What´s your job about?

At the beginning of a typical working day, it is my task to provide the employees with all information concerning upcoming orders. We are maintaining a commission list with orders, that have to be prepared. The orders are assigned to the staff, so that they are able to manufacture the devices on time. Besides, we take care of technical issues and compliance with important quality aspects. I am also responsible for the preparation of the assembly instructions, i.e. I specify the internal assembly of our devices. In addition, I support my team, if someone has a question or any issues and check the devices upon completion. I also take an active part in the work of the assembly department, thereby maintaining the connection to the daily business practice.

What´s your background? What have you been doing before you have started to work at ERWEKA?

I directly joined ERWEKA after leaving school. Actually, it all started in 1985 when I did a school internship at ERWEKA. As the internship had been extended, I continued to work for ERWEKA during the summer holidays. In the end, I decided to complete my training at this company. Since then I have been working in the assembly department at ERWEKA.

What do you appreciate most about ERWEKA?

ERWEKA is an exciting company. It is very diverse, because of its wide range of products. That is why it never becomes monotonous or boring. There are no rigid structures or too many regulations. You have the possibility to contribute your knowledge and your ideas, which are reflected in our products.

What do you like to do in your leisure time?

Football is my greatest passion. I have been playing football for a long time now. In addition, I am a huge fan of Eintracht Frankfurt and I enjoy watching football matches in the stadium. As a balance to my job I go to work by bike every day and I also like to spend my free time in my garden.

Three things, that you would take with you to a desert island?

Honestly, I have no interest in going to a desert island, because I would not feel comfortable there. For me it is important to have my friends around me.
